Species: Koi Parrot (Sweetheart Blood Parrot x Midas hybrid)
Size: 5" and growing

My sweet little Marie Antoinette... well ok, she's not so sweet. I had to give her back to the pet shop at one point because she was beating up her tankmate, Aristotle. I missed her so much that I got her back though; along with a tank divider. Now she and Aristotle live in a bigger 80 gallon tank, and get along just fine. She's a cross between a blood parrot (which is a hybrid itself) and a midas (Amphilophus citrinellus), so considering that, she's pretty docile. The interesting thing is that some blood parrots are bred to be born without tails, and apparently Marie is the offspring of one of those, as she and all her spawn siblings were missing their tails. She swims just fine, though. She was also dyed blue when she first arrived at the pet shop, but that has since faded and the only reminder is a little blue spot on her back where the needle went in. Dyeing is a cruel practice that I refuse to support, which is why I only bought Marie after hearing that the pet shop didn't plan to order any more dyed fish.

-Marie's brother, who was too aggressive and had to be returned to the pet shop. He was gorgeous too. See the blue dye?-
